About Bogie’s Adventures
Bogie’s Adventures is a privately owned off road riding park at 33387 2nd Road near Latham, Kansas, about an hour and a half east of Wichita. The property covers roughly 80 acres with a 5.3 mile wooded loop, almost all of it single track, winding through trees with shallow creek and gravel crossings. It is open to the general public on weekends and to riders by appointment during the week.
A Wooded Single Track Loop
Single track is what makes this place worth the drive. Almost the entire trail system is narrow, tight and lined with trees, which is a completely different experience from an open motocross track or a wide four wheel drive park.
The loop runs about 5.3 miles with light to moderate elevation changes, some rocks, many berms and a handful of water crossings. Mud and loose dirt are both limited, and there is some shade from the tree cover, which matters in a Kansas August. Difficulty rates mostly intermediate, with some beginner terrain and a small amount that will challenge advanced riders.
Trails are marked and lightly maintained, so ride with the awareness that this is a natural property rather than a groomed facility.
Who Can Ride
Dirt bikes and motorcycles are permitted throughout. ATVs are allowed in some areas rather than across the whole property, so ask when you call.
Side by sides and UTVs are not permitted, and neither are registered Jeeps and SUVs, dune buggies or sand rails. The single track layout is the reason. Wide machines simply do not fit the trails.
Two safety rules are strictly enforced. Helmets and boots are required for all riders, and a minimum of two riders per day is required, so solo riding is not allowed. On tight wooded single track with no cell service to rely on, that second rule is sensible rather than bureaucratic.
Riding is daylight hours only, and there is no night riding.
Call Before You Haul
The park is direct about this and so is everyone who rides there. Call first, every time.
The main entrance road crosses a low water bridge that floods and becomes impassable in wet weather. If the creek is up, you will not reach the gate. A phone call saves a long drive for nothing.
There is also a hard cutoff during the day. If riders are not on the property by 2:00 in the afternoon, the park closes for the day. Plan your arrival accordingly.
Summer hours run daily from 9:00 to 6:00, and fall and winter hours run daily from 9:00 to 5:00. Weekdays are by appointment only. Fees are cash only, with a per rider riding fee, a small spectator fee and inexpensive tent and RV camping.
Camping and Facilities
Primitive camping is permitted on the property, and there is plenty of room for large trailers. Recent improvements include a large gravel parking area and a bonfire pit for an evening fire when weather allows.
Services are a long way off, so come stocked. The nearest fuel and convenience store are more than thirty miles away, and the closest full service campground with potable water, RV hookups and a dump station is Fall River State Park, also about thirty miles out.
Getting There
From Wichita, take US 400 east about 30 miles, then turn south on Stony Creek Road and follow it roughly 9 miles. Turn east onto Blaine Street for two blocks, then south onto Main Street and Stony Creek Road for 7 miles. Turn east onto 12th Road for 3.8 miles, north onto 321st Road for 1.3 miles, then east onto 2nd Road for about a half mile and across the low water bridge. The park entrance is on the right.
Do not cross that bridge during high water. Call 620-965-2024 to check conditions before you leave.
